Forged from sounds collected from her surroundings, Lorana’s new single Am I? is both inquisitive and endearing. Kicking off as the first single from her self-produced EP Here In Between, Lorana carves an introspective space where she contemplates her life and her music. She also explores the duality between her small Belgian hometown and London (where the track was produced); a concept that continues on her EP. The buoyant and brash synths carry Lorana’s Lorde-esque vocals, which range from airy and intimate to loud and bold. A sampled family home doorbell and an underground tube train hum; the subtle touches are where this record really comes alive. A minimalist pop dream.
